Today I had a wonderful day which I spent with my family and Jalle on the beach. The water was really cold but that didn’t stop Tovah from running into and out from the water over and over again.
We made lunch on a small gas kitchen, soup and pasta which we ate with a few sandwitches.
Tovah finally got to test her inflatable crocodile which she got for her birthday last summer from my mother. She loved it.
The wheather was just perfect and we had our own little beach just for our selves.
Around 18 we headed for some grocery shopping and when we got home Jalle and Ida just drow up to the house. We ate vegetable fajitas after which Jalle put Tovah to bed.
Then it was puzzle time which we all enjoyed.
An almost perfect day…

I gave Citrix GoToMeeting a quick try this morning and it works rather good. Simply it is a shared presentation tool where the whole desktop is shared to all receivers. No audio, no video.
The user interface was really nice. Nice colours. Nice buttons for inviting users and sharing control. The shared desktop was scaled nicely on the receiving side. I got a 86% scaling and it looked very good. The update could have been a bit snappier though.
The client was installed via Java and I installed it and hosted a quick meeting within 3 minutes.
Regarding control, one or several other users could control the shared desktop. As far as I could tell only one desktop could be shared at one time though.
Seems to be a Windows only solution. MacOSX just gave an error “Your Operating System Is Not Supported”.
A simple shared deskstop/presentation tool that really seems to do the job.

I am home alone again. Johanna was going to her school in Borås and Tovah tagged along. She will be staying her first night without either mother or father, but with Johanna’s mother.
I have been working all day and will work most of the time when I am alone so I can spend more time with the family when they get back.
Got my second fan in Orkut today. Patrik Fältström!! My first is Jeff Pulver. I guess I have to start becoming a fan myself 🙂
A bit over a week ago the experts regarding my associate professorship responded and signed off on the scientific part (i.e. they both approved it). One of them though, questioned my pedagogic skills and I had to submit evidence of that I am a good teacher. So I produced a 22 page document for them. I hope they will respond immediately so a decision can be made by the next faculty board meeting at the end of May. If not, then there won’t be any decision until after the summer. This whole procedure started at the end of 2002 :-/ We really have a speedy organization.

Today I have exercised my right to just relax and be in the present. Instead of working all day as I usually do I have been sitting on the porch in the sun, writing, chatting, surfing, and most of all thinking. Everything not connected with any kind of payed work. If I am honest though, I feel like I have to much energy. Perhaps I should take a quick bike ride, or perhaps I am just happy. It can be very relaxing and energizing to really talk about your inner feelings, to have a really deep contact with somebody! Thank you all in group 5 of the leadership development program and especially one person. You know who you are! Thank you all!

My daughter just had here first real death experience. She was playing with an ant on the porch and the playing got a bit rough and the ant “broke”. It didn’t die though, so we had to kill it as we couldn’t repair it. This made her VERY upset and it lasted much longer than when she falls down and hurts herself. Interesting to see the difference. I guess I have to put it into perspective. The whole thing lasted about 5 minutes 🙂 Children….

Just found out that my father was robbed last week. Two youngsters kicked him in the head and took his wallet and cellphone. They got 1200 SEK and my father got a hurt shoulder, a constant headache and a pair of broken glasses.
What a fucking world this is 🙁

I had a long and intensive evening with Tovah. First we went to the library and borrowed and number of story and animal books. Then we went on to MAX a got some fries and a hamburger, which we ate at home. Followed by BolliBompa and some ice cream. Now I am really tired, good night. CU tomorrow and don’t let the bed bugs bite.

To celebrate our 7 year wedding anniversary we went out and ate a large dinner at Waldorf today. Waldorf Roll (sushi roll), vegetable tempura, garlic bread, a children pizza, and yakitori chicken. That was a lot of food and when we got home we topped it of with some “Marräng Swiss” 🙂 I feel like a blimp!
