After finishing Prime Time I continued with Mikael Niemi’s Populärmusik från Vittula. It was really funny to read about the life in Pajala with all the drinking, the sauna bathing contest, the summer job rat war, the air pellet gun wars in the woods and many other stories. I especially liked the music teacher from Skåne as I myself grew up in Skåne and now live in Luleå not to far from Pajala.
I just got back from a ride around town, a little trip of about 25Km. It so nice just cruising along on my bike. It took about 55 minutes and it actually was the first time I took this trip out to Gäddvik. I had only passed that way by car earlier. It is amazing how much energy can be stored up inside you by doing nothing. I haven’t really done anything physically for a week, besides going up and down the stairs in the house that is 🙂 I feels so good!
Yesterday I complained about a movie. Today I am going to you an recommendation, The Tuxedo. Here Jackie Chan is at his best with a twist. Want to see a a good and fun action movie. See The Tuxedo.
I am so disappointed in movies sometimes. You watch the trailer and think, Hey cool, I HAVE to see this movie and then when you watch it you get soooooo disappointed. One such movie is Joy Ride. They showed all the cool parts in the trailer and then the movie sucked big time. DO NOT SEE THIS MOVIE.
Mark from The Island Chronicles has written a dispatch about their moving to Rarotonga. Read it, it is very amusing!! Mark is really a good writer!
I just found out that my all time favorite TV show Coupling is being remade in the US by NBC. The original is from UK and one might wonder why they just cannot air the original instead of remaking it. NBC has so far released a 4.28 min. “trailer” and all the characters are almost identical and so is the typical bar where they always hang out. It looked very good though, but still it isn’t the original. It never is, is it?
I spent the rest of the day sorting my movie collection that is getting way to big with quite a lot of duplicates. Right now Blipp (one of my computers) is recoding all my Ren & Stimpy cartoons. They are really funny 🙂 The cleaning actually gave me another 73GB of free disk space.
Johanna said she like my Blue Wind Haiku and that made me happy 🙂 I feel really good today!! They are coming home in 8 days, 7 hours and 59 minutes and I have already started planning that day (food, activities and much more, froom froom ;-).
Quickly checked how one travels to Manihiki and apparently it would take me between 35 and 45 hours to get there from Luleå and the airfare would be 45,000SEK ($5625). The living on Manihiki is really cheap though, 225SEK ($28) for me, Johanna and Tovah with all meals included in one the two basic “rent a room” places on the island. No hot water and almost no electricity but probably as much swimming as one might want 🙂
Perhaps I should skip breakfast and go directly for lunch? I still have reached the shower (well I am alone 😉 and my hunger has come and gone.
By the way, Johanna wasn’t to keen on moving permanently to the south pacific 😉
