Press Release
Recumbent World Championships and Cycle Vision Tilburg

The Recumbent World Championships will be held in Tilburg, NL from Friday
July 3 through Sunday July 5. The World Championships will be a
part of the international recumbent bike show Cycle Vision, which will
take place on Saturday July 4 and Sunday July 5 in and around the Reeshof
Sport Hall. The World Championships for recumbents rotates among
different countries. The Netherlands come up once every 14 years in
the rotation. The Recumbent World Championships will be one of the
events in Tilburg’s Bicentennial celebratiën. Both the World
Championships and the Cycle Vision bike show are free and open to the
public.

During the first weekend in July, Tilburg offers its anniversary
hospitality to hundreds of recumbent riders from the Netherlands,
Belgium, Germany, France, England, Denmark, Austria and the United
States. Streets in the city will be closed off for the World
Championship races. Because these spectacular races will be ridden
on the public streets, large crowds of spectators are expected

In addition to the Recumbent World Championships, international and
especially Dutch recumbent manufacturers will be showing their latest
novelties at the big bike show Cycle Vision in and around the
Reeshof. An extensive series of lectures is also scheduled.

During the show, the new Dutch four-person Quattrocycle will be
introduced. New brands and manufacturers include Zockra carbon
recumbents, M-gineering with Son dynamos, Fiet-a-parts with, among other
offerings, Brompton folding bikes, and HP Velotechnik, with
recumbents. All of the large, established brands will be showing
their new models.

Besides the “ordinary” recumbents, the public can also make the
acquaintance of other unusual human-powered vehicles, such as trikes,
rowing bikes, back-to-back tandems, handbikes, and velomobiles.

Most of the models of recumbents are available for test rides on the test
tracks. Those who have tried them say that recumbents are
comfortable, not difficult, and that almost everyone can ride one with
just a few minutes of practice. Recumbents are valued for their speed, as
well as the fact that the rider, even over long distances, never develops
saddle-pain.

During this big recumbent event, the small visitors can participate in
special children’s races, in activities in the children’s corner, and try
out bikes on a special kids’ test track.

Entry and parking during Cycle Vision are free.

Kommer att åka dit. Bättre än Vätternrundan i ösregn. Överlåter mitt startnummer.
